JAMES SCOTT McCAIN, 71, of Bellville, Texas passed away Friday, October 2, 2020, in Bellville.
He was born September 14, 1949, in Gilmer, Texas, the son of James Rex and Josephine (Helstrom) McCain. Scott grew up and attended school in Dangerfield, Texas graduating from Dangerfield High School, in 1968. He was united in marriage to Camille Cooper, on January 25, 1971, in Dallas, Texas.
Scott was employed at Ashburn Chemical Technologies in Houston, Texas, where he enjoyed innovating and loved working on new product development. In his spare time, he enjoyed antiquing and refinishing furniture; loved to aggravate Camille; was an avid fisherman; and created a fishing lure that later received a patent.
Scott is survived by his wife of over 49 years: Camille McCain of Bellville; sons: Chris McCain and his wife, Jamie, of Brenham, Texas and Sam McCain and his wife, Jennifer, of Casper, Wyoming; grandchildren: Addison McCain, Braden McCain, Kade McCain, Reese McCain, Priscilla McCain and Shelby McCain; brother: Jerry McCain and his wife, Terry, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; sisters-in-law: Suzanne Walker and her husband, David, of Waxahachie, Texas, and Alison Beckham and her husband Rick, of Ennis, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Josephine McCain.
