JAMES EDWARD REISING, 73, longtime Brookshire resident, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018, in Katy, Texas. James was born June 29, 1944, in Schulenberg, Texas. The son of Leon Reising and Dorothy Emma (Berger) Reising, he grew up and attended school in Columbus, Texas. He served in the National Guard. On April 4, 1970, James was united in marriage with Connie Cihal in Ganado. They lived in numerous communities including Columbus, Edna, Ganado and Katy, before making their home in Brookshire forty years ago. During his working years, James was employed as a dirt mover in the construction business. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time on his tractor. Some of his children’s fondest memories are of riding the tractor with their Daddy. He also raised goats for a while. James is survived by his wife of almost 48 years: Connie Reising of Brookshire; daughter: Lynette Marshall of Cedar Park; son: Lee Reising and his wife, Alesha, of Katy; grandchildren: Dalton Marshall, Cammie Marshall, Eric Reising and Kaden Reising; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leon and Dorothy Reising, and two brothers: Norbert Reising and Alton Reising
