James Wernecke, 76 passed away at his home in Tomball, Texas on October 20, 2024. James was born January 29, 1948, in Houston, Texas to Rudolf Wernecke and Laura Lehmann. He grew up in the Houston area and attended school, graduating from Spring Branch High School in 1966. Out of High School he met the love of his life, Linda Blum, and married her on August 10, 1968, in Houston, Texas. The couple started their family and were blessed with two daughters, Wendy and Meghan. James worked for Ford Motors as a service manager and retired after 40 years. He enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. You could find him working on his 57’ Chevy or driving a pilot car for heavy haulers. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends the most. James is survived by his daughters: Wendy Shroeder and husband Jeff in Tomball and Meghan Ruple and husband Chad of Bellville; grandchildren: Chloe Schroeder, Easton Benoit, and Kassidy Ruple. He was preceded in death by his parents: Rudolf Wernecke and Laura Lehman; wife: Linda Wernecke; brother: Kenneth Wernecke; nephew: Daryl Wernecke; brother-in-law: Kenneth Blum Pallbearers are Chad Ruple, Jeff Schroeder, Kris Wernecke, Easton Benoit, Doug Fontaine, Paul Holmes, and Landon Hodges.
