Janice Steele Franco

JANICE (STEELE) FRANCO, 68, of Baytown, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Bellville, TX.

She was born September 8, 1952, in Campbellsville, Kentucky, the daughter of Howard Rollin and Eleanor (Hewitt) Steele.  Janice grew up and attended schools in Baytown, graduating from Sterling High School in 1970.  She was of strength and determination and it showed in her work ethic. Janice was the only female to work on the pipeline for Texas Eastern in Baytown while raising her five children.  During her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, while coordinating various outings, while participating in tap-dancing, board games for those 55+, loved water volleyball, lounging by the pool, and water aerobics.

Janice is survived by her children: Christy Stovall and her husband, Blake, of Bellville, Catherine Friddle of Fulshear, Gregg Franco of Houston, and Jeremy Franco of Dallas; brother: Kenneth Lewis Steele of Baytown; mother: Ellie Steele of Baytown; grandchildren: Rebecca Friddle, Brett Bright, Joe Friddle, Alyssa Friddle, Braydon Stovall, Kenneth Franco, Kasyn Franco, Emah Franco, Brooke Stovall, and Kora Franco; great-grandchildren: Kayden Bright, Odin Friddle, and Maddox Friddle; and a host of other family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Howard Steele, Grandmother, Lillian Hewitt, Aunt, Margarite, and her Son, Eddie Franco.
