Jean Marie Purcell, 86, of New Ulm, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 in Bellville. She was born on August 9, 1932 in Cochranton, PA, to Walter William Stallsmith and Esther Marie (Carey) Stallsmith. Growing up in Pennsylvania and graduating from high school she joined the Air Force obtaining the rank of Airman 3rd Class. She married and moved to Texas where she raised five children, along with being a housewife. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening and canning, and crafts. She is survived by her five children; James Christopher Oliver and his wife Mary of Pasadena, TX; John Calvin Oliver and his wife Jean of New Ulm; Yvonne Woods and her husband William of New Ulm; Joseph Chadwick Oliver of Pasadena, TX; and Justin Craig Oliver and his wife Lori of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Sisters; Louise Gilmore, of Greenville, PA, Wilda Boyd and her husband Robert of Meadville, PA, and Shirley Skrivanek of Bellville. Grandchildren; James Oliver and wife Alison; Jason Oliver and wife Elizabeth; William M. Woods, II; Jaron Oliver and wife Blaire; and Brenna Oliver and three great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Evelyn Stewart, Clara Jo Porter, and Marian Flick, and brothers Robert and Dave Stallsmith.Those who wish may make donations in Jean Marie’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Houston, Faith Academy’s Scholarship Fund, 12177 Hwy 36 South, Bellville, Texas 77418 or to the charity of one’s choice.
