Joanie Leigh Bumgardner

JOANIE LEIGH BUMGARDNER, 40, of Sealy, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017, at her home, following a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 7, 1977, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of David (Bum) and Barbara (Lankford) Bumgardner. Joanie grew up and attended schools in the Katy area, graduating from Mayde Creek High School. Joanie loved her role as mother and cherished her children more than anything else in the world. She built her life around her family, enjoying the comfort of having them all close by. She was greatly looking forward to becoming a grandmother to Sadie Leigh in the spring. Joanie had a natural ability to make every person she came into contact with feel special. Her faith as a Christian was so strong and unfailing. It was her relationship with God and her everlasting high spirits that kept her strong through all the rough times. Joanie is survived by daughter: Arielle Pitcock and her husband, Spenser, of Sealy; son: Alex Bumgardner of Sealy; parents: David and Barbara Bumgardner of Sealy; paternal grandmother: Betty Bumgardner of Wichita Falls; sister: Sarah Thourot and her husband, Cheyenne, of Sealy; brother: Jacob Bumgardner and his wife, Magen, of Sealy; nieces and nephews: Christian, Adisyn, Jayden, Claire, Trent, and Tristan; aunt: Helen and husband, Chuck Dickson, of Dallas; uncle: Bill Lankford, of Cleveland; aunt: Kim Bumgardner, of Wichita Falls; uncle: Mike Bumgardner, along with and numerous other relatives. Joanie is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents and her paternal grandfather.
