Juan C. Chavez

Juan C. Chavez, 93, of Brookshire, Texas, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 9, 2022.

Juan was born June 15, 1929, in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico, to Gabriel and Maria de Jesus (Corea) Chavez. In September of 1950, Juan was united in marriage with Mariana Moreno in Rosenberg, Texas. During his working years, Juan was a highway construction laborer. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pattison, Texas. In his spare time, Juan enjoyed smashing cans and had a passion for playing dominoes.

He is survived by his daughters: Rachel Guerrero and husband, Candelario, of Mesquite, Sally Delgado of New York City, NY, Irene Trevino and husband, Robert, of Bay City, Juanita Ortiz and husband, Cresencio, of Irving, Mariana Rios and husband, Raul, of Brookshire, and Mary Estelle Hernandez and husband, Felix, of Brookshire; sons: Felipe Chavez of Brookshire and Jimmy Chavez and wife, Cecilia, of Pattison; 40 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Juan was preceded in death by his loving wife:  Mariana Chavez; parents: Gabriel and Maria Chavez; and son: Joe Chavez.
