Juan Guzman Herrera

Juan Guzman Herrera, age 91, of Hempstead, TX passed away on Saturday December 7, 2024. He was born on March 13, 1933 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Merced and Rutila Herrera. Juan had a life that was full of memories and one that touched many people. He married the love of his life, Maria Cano, and they spent 57 years by each other’s side. He spent a lot of time singing and playing the guitar. Family and friends always enjoyed listening to his funny stories. Everyone that met him instantly loved his outgoing and witty personality. He loved everyone and never met a stranger. He is survived by his wife: Maria Cano Herrera of Hempstead; sons: Juan A. Herrera Jr. and wife Juanita of Hempstead and Marcos Herrera of Hempstead; daughter: Sylvia Herrera and husband Forrest Washburn of Katy; brother: Javier Herrera and wife Maria Evangelina of Hempstead; sister: Maria Luisa Gonzalez of Hempstead; grandchildren: Anthony, Liliana, Samuel, Luis, Eric, Izabella, and Joshua. He was preceded in death by his parents: Merced Herrera and Rutila Guzman; brothers: Jose Herrera and Francisco Herrera; sisters: Maria Concepcion Herrera, Leonor Herrera, and Maria Transita Herrera de Avalos.
