Juanita Escobedo Avila, 67, of Katy, Texas, passed away in Katy on Saturday, February 22, 2020.

Juanita was born on June 10, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Rumaldo and Juana (Machado) Escobedo. On January 12, 1978, Juanita was united in marriage to Mateo Avila in Houston, Texas. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Juanita worked at making a home for her family and treasured the time she was able to spend with them.

Juanita is survived by her husband of over 40 years: Mateo Avila; daughters: Marlena Soto and husband, Ines, of Katy, Melissa Avila and husband, Maxi, of Katy, and Pricilla Uribe and husband, Monico, of Katy; sons: Mateo Avila, Jr. and wife, Rosalinda, of Houston and Charles Avila of Katy; grandchildren: Maribel, David, Jose Juan, Victoria, Alex, Michael, Robert, Klarissa, Stephanie, Marcos, Denise, Yesenia, Marcus, Jacob, Moses, Melanie, Jonathon, and Anthony; great-grandchildren: Jayden, Abraham, and Lyla; brother: Alfred Escobedo and wife, Mary, of Lubbock; and sisters: Mauricia, Nila, Guadalupe, and Bietris; and numerous family members

She is preceded in death by her parents: Rumaldo and Juana Escobedo; and brothers: Sylvester Escobedo and Gilbert Escobedo.
