Kathleen Klausmeyer

KATHLEEN MONETTE (RHEMANN) KLAUSMEYER , 72, lifelong resident of Brookshire, passed away suddenly Thursday, March 14, 2019, in Katy.

Kathleen was born September 17, 1946, in Sealy, Texas.  The daughter of C.J. and Martha Margaret Elizabeth (Francis) Rhemann, she grew up in Brookshire where she went to school before attending Katy High School.

Kathleen married Harold Wayne Klausmeyer on February 15, 1965, in Hempstead.  They made their home in Brookshire and were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Harold preceded Kathleen in death on January 4, 1998, after almost 33 years of marriage.

Kathleen owned and operated Kathleen’s Korner Flower Shop for a number of years.  Active in numerous community affairs, she was a member of Friends of Royal FFA, and was instrumental in organizing the Christmas Festival and the Fourth of July Festival for the city of Brookshire for many years.  She had also served on the Royal FFA Parade Committee and on the Brookshire Municipal Water District Board.

Kathleen enjoyed trailriding and was a member of the Brazos River Riders for 46 years.  She enjoyed playing dominoes and Farkle, but most of all she treasured the time she was able to spend with her family, especially her great grandsons.

Kathleen is survived by her children:  Karen Klausmeyer of Brookshire, and Kurt Klausmeyer and his wife, Judi, of Pattison; granddaughter:  Barbara Butera of Pattison; great grandsons:  Asher and Hayden Rico; special son:  James Paben and wife, Caty, and their daughter:  Jamie Paben; sister:  Mae Dell Kohler and her husband, Charles; and many other dear friends and relatives.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband:  Harold Wayne Klausmeyer, 3 brothers:  John, Bill and Tommy, and 1 sister:  Gladys.
