Katie Macway

Katie Macway, age 49, of Katy, TX passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 22, 2024. Born on April 13, 1975 in San Mateo, California, she was the daughter of Thom and Sharon (Gamlin) Macway. Raised in Redwood City, California Katie loved dancing, cheerleading, baseball and anything social. Katie graduated from Sequoia High School and attended Canada College primarily spending her career in agent services/transaction coordination for the Real Estate industry. She moved from California to Texas in 2014 and never looked back, forming a love for her new state. Katie loved tradition. Whether it was a holiday, crawfish boils, opening day of baseball season, birthday “month” or singing Alice’s Restaurant at Thanksgiving she celebrated it all! If it had glitter, she wore it! If it was a new treat recipe, she baked it! If it was a Grey’s Anatomy episode, she watched it (14 times)! But if someone needed help, Katie was always there! Katie’s love of animals led her to become a passionate advocate for animal rescue. She dedicated her services at adoption events and always had at least one foster dog in her home. She specialized in senior and dogs with medical needs. Her chihuahua Pepper was the love of her life. Katie was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, housemate and friend. Katie was preceded in death by her father, Thom. Katie’s contagious laughter and smile will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to your local animal rescue or shelter.
