Leda "Candy" Candace Sturm

July 18, 1944 — November 20, 2022

Leda was born July 18, 1944, in Houston, Texas to Brick Upton and Lasetta (Ehlert) Diemer. She grew up “in the bottom” in Pattison, Texas, graduating valedictorian of her class at Royal High School. On August 31, 1962, Leda was united in marriage with Lynn Arlen Sturm in Pattison, Texas. She was employed as a legal secretary at a law firm for many years. Leda was a member of Christian City Fellowship in Sealy, Texas. In her spare time, Leda enjoyed sewing, gardening, and raising cattle. Leda treasured every moment she spent with her family, especially her grandbabies or grandluvs.

She is survived by her daughters:  Kim Newman and husband, Randal, of Katy, Lasetta Sturm of Katy, and Nicole Canales and husband, Eddie, of Brookshire/Pattison; granddaughters: Morgan Newman, Madison Newman, and Sydney Canales; grandsons: Mason Newman, Lawson Newman, Zach Canales, and Coleson Canales; great-grandchildren: Sophia Smith, Trey Smith, and Adelynn Smith; brother: Ted  Diemer and wife, Debbie; sisters-in-law: Rueann Smith, Glenda de la Rosa, Donna Smith, and Marcy Downum; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.



Leda was preceded in death by her husband: Lynn Arlen Sturm; parents: Brick & Lasetta Diemer; older brother: Brick Diemer, Jr.; and younger sister: Ruth (Diemer) Marshall.
