Leslie John Brunkenhoefer

LESLIE JOHN BRUNKENHOEFER , 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at his home in Pattison, Texas surrounded by his family.

Leslie was born on December 22, 1925, in Simonton, Texas, the son of Charles and Mae (Goates) Brunkenhoefer. He grew up in the Simonton and Rosenburg area and graduated from Pattison High School. On March 22, 1947, Leslie married Iris LaVerne Goode in Rosenberg, Texas. They made their home in Pattison and were members of the Christ Lutheran Church. Leslie owned a Pest Control and Fumigation Company. Leslie loved music, could play any instrument, and could learn a song just by hearing it. He would often be found playing music for his parrot, Paca, and would often randomly start singing the song “Memphis”. Leslie also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and chopping grass all day long.

Leslie is survived by his son: John W. “Bubba” Brunkenhoefer and wife, Tina, of Sealy; daughter: Paula Elaine Brunkenhoefer of Pattison and Frank J. Mozola, III of Simonton; daughter-in-law: Sandra Faye of Pattison; half-sister: Frances LaVerne Rheman Berry of Pinehurst; grandson: Steven W. Brunkenhoefer of Chappel Hill; granddaughters: Shanna B. Sliman and husband, Samir, of Pattison, Britt B. Smith and husband, Dustin, of Fairchild, and Brandi B. Kuecker and husband, Russell, of Bellville; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth and Cole Sliman, Brooke, Alexis, and Cassidy Smith, and Braeden Kuecker; special friend: Johnny Peterek of Brookshire; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles L. Brunkenhoefer, Sr. and Mae Frances Goates Brunkenhoefer Rheman; brother: Charles L. “Bub” Brunkenhoefer, Jr.; sister: Effie Marie; wife: Iris LaVerne Goode Brunkenhoefer; and son: Raymond L. “Skeete” Brunkenhoefer.
