Lonnie Thomas Parkhill

LONNIE THOMAS PARKHILL, 87, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020, in The Woodlands, Texas.

He was born December 16, 1932, in McAllen, Texas, the son of Wylie Nelson and Annie Mae (Alley) Parkhill.  Lonnie grew up and attended schools in the McAllen, graduating from Pharr Alamo High School.  After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and later attended Edinburg College obtaining a Business Finance degree.  Lonnie was united in marriage to Barbara Critchfield, on May 1, 1951.  He was employed with the State of Texas as a Comptroller.

Lonnie was a history buff and in his spare time, he enjoyed watching true western movies, gardening and reading and caring for his dogs.

He is survived by his daughter: Tammie Ellington of Bellville; grandchildren: Thomas, Nathaniel, Scarlett and William Ellington; and numerous family and dear friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Parkhill, son Truett Parkhill, parents, Wylie and Anne Parkhill, and brother, Nelson Parkhill.
