Martha Lorene Jones

Martha Lorene Jones, age 103, of Simonton, Texas passed away June 11,2023.

Lorene was born September 2, 1919, in Lipan, Texas, to Obed Saul and Frances Tidwell Saul.  She married the love of her life, Arbrey Jones, on November 13, 1939.  Together they built a full life and raised a family that they loved.  Whether known as “Rene”, “Mom”, or “Nana”, she will always be remembered for her strength, kindness, and loving devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arbrey Jones, and her granddaughter, Debra Galavan, her brothers, Clifford Saul and JG Saul, her sisters, Faye Knutson and Dorothy Armstrong.  She is survived by her son, Selwin Jones and wife, Doris; her daughter, Patricia Curtis; her grandsons Greg Allen and wife, Tina, Wade Jones and wife, Angela, Aron Jones and wife, Melody; her 8 great grandchildren; and her sister Stella Gee.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Thomas Galavan, Dalton Allen, Wyatt Jones, and AJ Cantu.  Serving as honorary pallbearers are Greg Allen, Wade Jones, and Aron Jones.
