LORETTA LOIS WOEHST, 80, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016. She was born May 14, 1935, in Bellville, Texas, the daughter of Edwin Wilson and Lillie Louise (Reinhardt) Woehst. Loretta''s family moved to Los Angeles, California, when she was just a baby in 1936, before moving to Houston in 1942. Loretta moved with her family in 1944, to Dickinson. She attended Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches and then Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas, finally earning her Masters Degree. Loretta moved to Deweyville in 1959, where she was a 1st grade teacher until 1960. In 1960, she made her home in Rosenberg, where she was the Junior High Art and Reading teacher and was also the P.E. and Tennis Coach. She then became the 3rd grade teacher until 1966, before returning to Junior High as the Art Teacher; P.E. and Tennis Coach until 1994. Loretta has called Bellville home since 1994. She enjoyed painting, drawing, singing, dancing and tennis. She also enjoyed making trips with her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Loretta lived a very active life. She was a member of the Bellville United Methodist Church. She served as the past president of the Texas Talkers Toastmasters Club, where she was the winner of 4 Club Humor Speech Contests. She also served as the past President of the Rosenberg Art Association, and was a member of the Texas Cactus Council from 1990 until 1998. Loretta was also a member of the Bellville Chamber of Commerce. She is survived by her son: Steven Robertson and his wife, Ruth, of Memphis, TN; brother: Keenan Woehst of Dickinson; nephew: Keenan Woehst, II, and his wife, Kimberly, of Bellville; grandchildren: Cassandra, Jonathan and Hannah; great nieces and nephews: Candice Havemann and her husband, Justin, of Bellville, John Woehst and his wife, Katrina, of Sugar Land, Heidi Woehst of Round Rock, Kaylee Lewellen of Bristol, England, Lilly Miller of Santa Fe, Jonathan Bouras of Santa Fe, Madison Bouras of Santa Fe, Justin Bouras of Santa Fe; additional nephews and their families; Roy Frierson of Illinois, Robert Frierson of Florida, and Jason Payne of California; cousins: Joyce Grebe of Bellville, and Weldon Frank and his wife, Eunice, of Bellville. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Lillie Woehst and niece, Mary Bouras.
