Mabel Eileen Mcknight

MABEL EILEEN (PETERS) McKNIGHT, 93, of Richmond, Texas, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020, in Katy, Texas.

Mabel was born June 27, 1927, in Monaville, Texas.  The daughter of Adolph and Emma Peters, she grew up in Monaville, graduating from Monaville High School. On January 16, 1947, Mabel was united in marriage with William “Mac” McKnight in Houston. She developed a strong foundation for her Christian walk in her youth, leading her to become a long-time member of the Pattison United Methodist Church. Mabel was employed in a cafeteria, serving students in Pasadena ISD. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and making crafts with the ladies at church for the fair.

She is survived by her daughter: Joyce Evans and husband, Ron, of Richmond; sons: William McKnight and wife, Debbie, of Mont Belvieu and James McKnight and wife, Gloria, of Friendswood; grandchildren: Gregory Evans, Allison Evans Bussey, Heather McKnight Womack, Chris McKnight; and sister: Helen Hopkins of Monaville.

Mabel is preceded in death by her parents: Adolph and Emma Peters; husband: William “Mac” McKnight; and sister: Edna McArdle.

The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to everyone who cared for Mabel at Vantage Hospice and Grace Care in Katy.
