MARGARET ALICE (NELSON) COOK, of Chappell Hill, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020, in Brenham, Texas.
She was born March 17, 1927, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert Lee and Jessie Mae (King) Nelson. Margaret grew up in De Queen, Arkansas, before moving to the Houston area, graduating from Galena Park High School. She later pursued her education in the medical field, receiving her Associates Degree and became a Registered Nurse.
Margaret was united in marriage to Robert E. Cook, in Houston, Texas, on June 25, 1949. They made their home in the Houston area, before moving to Chappell Hill in 1983. She was a lifelong member of the PTA and was an avid bird watcher, active member of her church and was an amazing baker; and she was especially known for her delicious divinity and biscottis.
Margaret is survived by her daughters: Sandra Cook of Magnolia, and Norma Hardie and her husband, Robert Charles, of Chappell Hill; grandchildren: Wendy Frazier and her husband, Mark, Amber Whitt and Jake Stevenson, Amy Oliver and her husband, Charles, Cody Cook and his wife, Cassie, Susan Cook, Maggie Montgomery and her husband, Rob, Tucker Hardie and his wife, Katie, and Sam Hardie; sisters: Esta Lou Penzo, Patricia Rae Crone, and Majol Alice DeHart; brother: Joe Nelson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in by her husband, Robert E. Cook, parents, Robert L. and Jessie Mae Nelson, sons: David Wayne Cook and Timothy Alan Cook, daughter, Martha Ann Cook, and four siblings.
