Maria Esperanza Marmolejo Gonzalez

MARIA ESPERANZA (MARMOLEJO) GONZALEZ, 81, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023, at her home. She was born on June 3, 1942, in Aquila, Mexico, the daughter of Octabrano Marmolejo and Veatris Alcala. Maria grew up in Mexico with her two sisters and four brothers. She met Jose Angel Gonzalez in Mexico and later they moved to Bellville, Texas, in 1970. They were united in marriage in 1986 and have called Bellville home for more than 53 years. Maria was employed with Bellville ISD as a custodian for twenty-five + years and retired in 2019 when her health began to fail her. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and plants, loved to cook and was well-known as someone who loved to work. Maria is survived by her husband: Jose Angel “Mr. George” Gonzalez of Bellville; son: Jose Roberto Gonzalez and his wife, Patricia, of Washington; granddaughters: Natalie Gonzalez, Amya Gonzalez, and Alexandra Gonzalez; all of Washington; sisters: Gloria Marmolejo of Bellville, and Consuelo Magana of California; and Special Friend: SanJuana Rubalcava of Bellville; and numerous other family, friends, and special co-workers. She was preceded in death by her parents: Octabrano and Veatris Marmolejo; four brothers; and four sisters-in-law.
