Maria Elena Balderas Sosa Solis

MARIA “ELENA” BALDERAS SOSA SOLIS, 67, of Wallis, Texas, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 19, 2023, in Sugar Land, Texas. She was born on August 22, 1956, in Mexico, the daughter of Ines Balderas and Maria Sosa Dominguez Rivas. Maria “Elena” grew up in Mexico, before moving to Stafford, Texas, in 1974. In 1975, she was united in marriage to Jose Guadalupe Solis, on December 19, 1975, in Stafford, Texas. Maria “Elena” was employed as a cook for Taquitos Cafeteria in Stafford for 30+ years. In 1989, Maria “Elena”, Jose, and their four daughters moved to Wallis, which they called home until her passing. In her spare time, Maria “Elena” enjoyed cooking, listening to her favorite music, going shopping, and visiting her daughters, grandchildren, and her entire family. She also loved going for her nightly coffee run with her husband, as well as traveling with him on spontaneous road trips. Maria “Elena” is survived by her loving husband: Jose Guadalupe Solis of Wallis; daughters: Maria “Laura” Hernandez Pena, and her husband, Ruben Hernandez, (Wallis); Maria “Patricia” Solis, and her husband, Francisco Javier Maldonado, (Boling); Rosalva Solis Virgen, and her husband, Eduardo V. Cisneros, (Richmond); and Angie Ann Solis, and her husband, Jose Henry Pena Torres, (Richmond); grandchildren: Jelson Alberto Alvarenga, and his fiancé, Layla Monet Renteria, Anna Guadalupe Bautista, and her husband, Carlos Bautista Andres, Elena Carolina Alvarenga, Edgardo Anthony Virgen, Moncerath Virgen, and her fiancé, Steven Douglas Corwin, Franchescoly Virgen, and Magali Kataleya Virgen; great grandchildren: Carlos Alec Bautista, Emma Carolina Bautista, Mael Mateo Alvarenga, Valeria Sofia Hernandez, and Ofelia Ruth Snyder; and numerous other family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Ines and Maria Balderas, her brother: Efrain Balderas, and her grandchildren: George Anthony Solis, and Juan Jose Solis, Jr. Maria “Elena”s caring heart and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
