Marjorie "Margie" Laverne (Krueger) Davis

Marjorie (Margie) Laverne Davis, 93, passed peacefully on February 7, 2022.

Margie was born to Werner and Sophie Krueger on October 3, 1928.  She grew up in Burleigh, TX where she met Boyce Davis, and they married January 23, 1948.  Margie received her bachelor’s degree in 1969, the same day her oldest son graduated from High School.  She worked hard for that degree while working and caring for her family of 5 kids!  We are all so proud of her.  After a time of teaching school in La Joya, TX, the family moved back to Bellville where Margie taught in Sealy before retiring.  Margie, always with a smile, devoted a great deal of time to the Austin County Cancer Society, drove and scheduled drivers for the UMC Mission Taxi Program, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was a member of the Bellville United Methodist Church as well as the Order of the Eastern Star.  Margie loved reading, cross-stitch, a good game of 42, sitting on the porch and crossword puzzles.  Most of all, Margie loved her family, and they love her.  Seeing her grandkids and hosting family celebrations was something she genuinely enjoyed.  Margie was known to us as Mama, Mom, or Granny, and we will miss her very much.

Margie is survived by her 5 children:  Chuck Davis (Verna), Craig Davis (Carolyn), Chris Davis (Debbie), Cathy Davis Madsen (Marty) and Cliff Davis (Traci).  She has 9 grandchildren:  Christopher Davis, Kisha Davis Kloster, Martin Madsen, Christi Madsen, Ty Davis, Amber Davis Smith, Robyn Davis, Kyle Davis, and Cory Davis.  She also has 10 great-grandchildren.

Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Werner and Sophie Krueger and her husband, Boyce Davis.
