MARK DARDEN KENTER, 56, of The Woodlands, beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014, in Houston, Texas. He was born to Grace Bradshaw Kenter and Franklin Benjamin Kenter on February 26, 1958. In his youth, Mark was an accomplished Eagle Scout and avid winning tennis player. He excelled in his passions and quickly fell in love with the great outdoors. During scouting and college, Mark enjoyed many hiking and backpacking trips throughout the country. In 1981, he graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor''s Degree in Business Marketing. He went on to establish a long-lasting career of over 30 years with State Farm Insurance, retiring in 2013. Throughout his life, Mark was completely consumed with his love for hunting and fishing. He spent many days pursuing and sharing this adventure with his children. Mark will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and his giving spirit. In addition to his "He-Man" persona, he possessed a very tender heart. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Franklin Kenter. He is survived by his two children, Kyle Franklin Kenter and Kelli Grace Kenter; two sisters, Joy Kenter Holland and Mija Kenter Lane and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his loyal dog, Bud. The family wishes to thank Jayde Malone for her loving, tender, and skillful care of Pops during these difficult days.
