Martin Vences Maya

Martin Vences Maya, 47, of Brookshire, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022, in Houston, Texas.

Martin was born October 7, 1975, in Michoacan, Mexico, to Julian Gonzalez and Maria Felicitas (Maya) Vences. He grew up in Michoacan before moving to Brookshire, Texas in 1997. Martin worked as a machinist in the oil & gas industry for many years. In his spare time, Martin enjoyed playing bingo, watching soccer, eating seafood, and having coffee with friends. He loved to make small talk and never met a stranger. Martin also enjoyed quality time with his family, especially his grandson.

He is survived by his daughters:  Lesley Vences of Pattison and Jimena Vences of Austin; son: Martin Vences, Jr. of Killeen; grandson: Marcellus Vences of Killeen; sisters: Gloria Vences-Guerrero and Otilia Vences; brother: Serafin Vences; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents: Julian and Felicitas Vences: sister: Cristina Vences; and brother: Ignacio Vences.
