MARVIN JAMES ULCAK, 79, of Bellville, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Marvin was born on October 3, 1944, in Shiner to Edwin Ulcak and Agnes Prasek Ulcak. He attended Shiner High School and after graduation, he decided to serve his country and enlisted in the US Army. He was stationed at Ft. Polk, Louisiana, and Camp Bullis in San Antonio, Texas. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Most of his career was spent in Houston working for Mosher Steel and after 30 years of employment, he retired to Bellville. In his spare time, Marvin kept busy doing carpentry work in the area. He enjoyed tending to his garden and canning his food. He was best known for his pickles, salsa, and green grape pies. He loved dancing and listening to polka with his friend JoAnn, hunting with his son Ryan, floating the Frio River with his daughter Miranda, and playing dominoes with his friends and family who he loved dearly. Survivors include friend: JoAnn Remmert of Bellville; son: Ryan Ulcak and wife Beth of Houston; daughter Miranda Guthman and husband Kelly and son: Braden of Richmond; 5 sisters and 3 brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Lucille Roznovsky, Mary Proschko, and Lillie Ulcak.
