Mary Telano Davis

Mary Telano Lee Davis, 94, passed away on April 11, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mary was born on December 25, 1923, in Beckville, Texas to Jim and Mattie Telano. She married Wiley Robert Lee on July 20, 1942, in Marshall, Texas. They had four children, Marion, Bobby, Jimmy and Janet, and were later divorced. She married Edgar L. Davis on August 19, 1975, and they lived together happily in Brookshire, Texas until Ed passed away in 1998. Mary volunteered at Memorial Hermann hospital for many years. She loved sewing and needle work and many of her creations continue to brighten the homes of loved ones. She crafted personalized Christmas stockings for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many of their extended family members to be cherished for years to come. “Mema,” as she was known by her grandkids, also loved to cook. Her spaghetti, pear preserves, fried shrimp, bacon and “brown eggs” – made with the leftover bacon grease—inspired, comforted and nourished three generations. Her kitchen was the center of her home, and the smells of her home will forever be in the hearts of all who loved her. Mary is survived by her daughter Marion Hester, son Jimmy (Angie) Lee, daughter Janet (Beau) Pike, son Mark (Robyn) Davis, son Chris Davis, son Steve Davis; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother JP Telano, sister Dorothy Jones, son Bobby Lee, son in law Billy Hester, grandson JT Lee, and former husband Robert Lee.
