Brookshire

Mary Estelle Hernandez, a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished sister, and adoring grandmother, was born on April 29, 1968, in Hempstead, Texas. She left this world far too soon on April 11, 2025, in Katy, Texas, but her spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Mary dedicated many years of her life to teaching in the Royal School District, sharing her knowledge and nurturing young minds with a gentle, caring, and thoughtful approach. After being a Royal High graduate this was her way of giving back. Her passion for education was matched only by her love for her family, as she effortlessly balanced her career with her role as a homemaker. Mary always valued learning and strove to instill that same appreciation in her children.

Known for her happy disposition, Mary radiated warmth and joy, embodying the qualities of gentleness and kindness. She had a particular affection for music and dancing, often bringing family and friends together to celebrate life's many moments. Cooking was not just a chore for Mary; it was her way of expressing love, preparing delicious meals for her family, and creating a home filled with the aromas of her beloved dishes.

Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Felix Hernandez, and their beloved children: Victoria Chavez, Elizabeth Hernandez and her husband Armando, Amanda Hernandez, and Felix Hernandez Jr. Each of her children carries forward the values and lessons she instilled within them, a testament to her impactful role as a mother.

Mary was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren: Xavier Swain, Tasha Lampkin, Yazmine Abraham, Mila Abraham, Aliaia Arranda, Rosemary Garcia, Adrian Pichardo, and Elijah Hernandez. Her presence brought immeasurable joy to their lives, and she cherished each moment spent with them.

A supportive sister, Mary is remembered by her siblings Rachel Guerrero, Sally Chavez, Irene Trevino and her husband Robert, Janie Ortiz and her husband Cresencio, and Mona Rios and her husband Raul, along with her brother Jimmy Chavez and his wife Cecilia. Each of these relationships was precious to Mary, as she fostered a deep bond of love and loyalty within her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents: Juan and Mariana Chavez, brothers: Jose Chavez and Felipe Chavez, as well as her son Nicholas Grimaldo. Their memories are an integral part of her legacy, reminding her family of the love and strength that flowed through generations.

Though Mary Estelle Hernandez has left this earthly realm, her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. She lived a life rich with compassion, joy, and unwavering love, leaving behind a tapestry of beautiful moments that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
