Max Leroy "Spencer" Mcalister

MAX LEROY “SPENCER” McALISTER, 64, of Redwater, Texas, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018, in Bryan, Texas.He was born October 21, 1953, in Melburne, Arkansas, the son of Max and Betty (Trivitt) McAlister. Spencer grew up and attended schools in the Redwater area, graduating from Redwater High school in 1972. He was employed as a brick layer and general contractor. Spencer loved the outdoors; fishing and hunting for arrow heads were his past time. He also enjoyed studying Indian history and working with his hands. Spencer is survived by his daughter: Catrina Hopper and her husband, Sam, of Gilmer; son: Christopher Shane McAlister of Maud; grandchildren: Jacob, Cody, Cheyenne McAlister, Kali, Lilah and Chloe Hopper; great grandchildren: Lita and Calvin McAlister; mother: Betty McAlister of Bryan; sister: Mary Jane Gray of Bryan; nephew: Joshua Gray of College Station and other dear family and friends.He was preceded in death by his father Max McAlister in 2001.Honorary Pallbearers are Lindell Willbanks, Johnny Davis and Morris “Skinner” Dedmon.Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to:Hospice Brazos Valley1600 Joseph DriveBryan, Texas 77802
