Michael David Johnson

Michael David Johnson, 63, of Montgomery, TX, passed away on August 11, 2024, in Brookshire, TX.

Born on March 24, 1961, in Los Angeles, California, Michael was the beloved son of Kenneth and Angela Gallardo Johnson. He spent his formative years in Los Angeles and attended West Torrance High School, later building a life filled with love and service. On September 25, 1989, Michael married Isabel Barreda, with whom he shared a beautiful journey of over 34 years.

A proud veteran, Michael dedicated over 20 years of his life to serving his country in the United States Navy, where he found his calling as an engineer, working passionately on naval vessels. After his service, he furthered his education at the Universal Technical Institute. In 2000, he was given an incredible opportunity to work in Cairo, Egypt, contributing his expertise on naval vessels for over 23 years. Michael lived life to the fullest, relishing the simple pleasures of golfing, fishing, football, classic cars, motorcycles, and being a huge Los Angeles Dodgers fan, often enjoying a cold beer with friends.

Michael leaves behind his devoted wife, Isabel Johnson of Montgomery, TX, and their cherished children: Mary Johnson of Houston, TX, Caitlin Johnson of Montgomery, TX, and Jeffrey Johnson, also of Montgomery, TX. He is also survived by his brothers, Kevin Johnson of Davis, CA, Eric Johnson of Laguna Beach, CA, and Rob McEachron, along with his stepsister, Tammy Watesk; and a proud grandfather of six grandchildren. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Angela, his stepbrother Rob Johnson, and Isabel’s parents, Cristina and Faustino Barreda.

Michael’s legacy is one of love, service, and an unyielding passion for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
