It’s with sad hearts that we announce our dear Aunt Mildred (96) passed away on February 16. She was preceded in death by her daughter Joyce (at a very young age), and her husband Melvin whom she celebrated 66 years of marriage, before his passing in 2011.
Mildred was known by her friends in Bellville as Millie, but to her immediate family we called her Aunt Mildred, and to some, it was Great Great Aunt Mildred.
She loved to travel with Melvin to see the Aspens turn in Colorado, and to enjoy the fall colors on the East Coast. They would take day trips just exploring Texas and its many different landscapes.
Mildred played the organ and liked to do latch hook rugs. She loved to read romance novels, always with a smile and a gleam in her eyes.
Mildred lived her last four years under the exceptional care of the ladies at Oak Haven Assisted Living in Industry, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings; Gladys, Ruth, Floyd, and Eddie. Mildred would like any donations sent to Bellville United Methodist, P.O. Box 188, Bellville, TX 77418
We will miss her humor, her quick wit, and her beautiful smile.
