Oscar Henry Pressel, a beloved member of the Bellville community, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on May 15, 1949, in Bellville, Texas, Oscar's life was marked by his commitment to family, faith, and service.
Oscar was a proud veteran who served as an E-3 in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His dedication to his country was evident not only in his military service but also in his strong values of integrity and service throughout his life. He pursued a career as a Certified Accountant, earning a Masters in Accounting, and became known for his outgoing personality and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.
He was a dedicated member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus, an accomplishment he was deeply proud of. Oscar was also passionate about outdoor activities, finding joy in hunting and fishing, which he enjoyed alongside family and friends.
Oscar leaves behind his loving wife, Bernadette Pressel, and his cherished sons, Matt (Kellie) Pressel of Bellville and Bart (Nithya) Pressel of Crownsville, Maryland. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to Ross Pressel and Aria Dora Pressel. Oscar is also survived by his brothers, Thomas (Leah) Pressel and John (Vickie) Pressel, and his sisters, Ruby Thurston and Margaret Bailey, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and dear friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sewell and Grace Pressel, whose love and guidance shaped him into the person he became.
The community is invited to honor Oscar's life at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy, Texas, where a Rosary will be held on March 7, 2025, at 10:30 AM, followed by a Visitation at 11:00 AM and a Mass at 11:30 AM. A Graveside Service will take place at Sts. Paul & Peter Catholic Cemetery in Bellville at 1:30 PM.
Oscar Henry Pressel's legacy of love, service, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
