Pat Hartman

January 9, 1940 — February 25, 2019

PAT (STEWART) HARTMAN , 79, of Sunnyside, Texas, passed away suddenly at her home on February 25, 2019

Pat was born January 9, 1940 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Ralph Forest and Ruby Agnes (Gill) Stewart.  She grew up and attended school in Pasadena, graduating from Pasadena High School.  Pat then graduated from business school and was employed by the Houston Police Department as a warrant typist.

On October 31, 1964, Pat married the love of her life, Ben William Hartman, Jr. in Hempstead, Texas.  The majority of her career was spent in child care service.  She helped raise many children who are now grown and considered her extended family.

Pat and Ben lived and raised their children in Brookshire until 1969 and moved to the Spring Branch area in the Houston. They moved to the Sunnyside area in 1979 where they made their final home.  Ben preceded her in death on October 13, 2010.

Pat was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Pattison.  She loved dancing, sports, movies, shopping and games, including dominoes and cards.  But she especially treasured the time she was able to spend with her family. Pat never met a stranger and made friends with everyone that she met. She loved to bake, especially deserts. Everyone always wanted her tarts no matter which flavors. Holidays were always filled with her delicious meals. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She loved to be with her family, loved the Lord, and she lived her life without regret, always looking to the next adventure.  She is now at home with her Lord and her family who went before her.

She is survived by her children:  Ronda Hartman of Sunnyside, Sue Seely of Houston and Scott Hartman and his wife, Michele, of Sunnyside; grandchildren:  Kristal Thomas, Dallas Seely, Staci Green, Lance Hartman, Tyler Hartman, Brandon Zegarrundo and Ashley Zegarrundo; and great grandchildren:  Kylie Schuetz, Kayci Thomas, Emily Zegarrundo and Wyatt Seely.   Also surviving Pat is her brother:  Dusty Stewart of Humble; sister:  Carolyn Lirette of Cold Spring; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 46 years, Ben Hartman, and her brother, Joe Stewart.
