Raymond Paul McKinney

RAYMOND PAUL McKINNEY, 94, of Bellville, Texas, passed away peacefully Monday, July 11, 2023, in Houston. His wife, Ruth, was with him until his final moment. He was born February 11, 1929, in Houston, Texas, the son of Robert B. and Doris A. (Ohrnberger) McKinney. Raymond grew up in Houston and started working for the railroad at age 16. He was drafted into the Army in 1952 for the Korean War. He met the love of his life when he returned and was united in marriage to Ruth Emshoff, on April 22, 1955, in Houston, Texas. In 1970, after having their two children, they purchased the property in Bellville where they spent every weekend. In 1991, when they had both retired, they left the city and made Bellville their permanent home. They were members of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. He enjoyed hanging out with friends and family; especially at the Kenney Store having a few beers and socializing with all his buddies. Raymond and Ruth never left each other’s side. He is survived by his wife: Ruth Emshoff McKinney of New Wehdem; daughter: Laura Eaton and her husband, Eric, of Missouri City; son: Richard McKinney and his wife, Jamie, of Cypress; grandchildren: Candace Hein and her husband, Matt, Elayne McKinney, Sydney Eaton, and Jake Eaton; great-grandchildren: Paisley and Tyler; and numerous other family and dear friends. Raymond was preceded by his parents, Robert and Doris McKinney, his brothers and sisters-in-law, and his sister. Pallbearers are Weldon Emshoff, Robert Winkelmann, Paul Nichols, Jake Eaton, Tyler Williams, and Matt Hein.
