Ricardo "Rick" Flores, Jr.

Ricardo “Rick” Flores, Jr., 48, of Brookshire, Texas, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 23, 2023.

Rick was born May 26, 1974, in Weslaco, Texas, the son of Ricardo, Sr. and Anita (Benavidez) Flores. He grew up in the Brookshire area, attending from Royal High School. Rick worked as a propane technician. He was united in marriage with Mistie Lee Swartz on December 12, 2012, in Pattison, Texas. Rick treasured every moment he spent with his family. He was active in his spare time, enjoying drag racing, mudding, riding ATVs, and BMXing. He especially enjoyed his red ’01 Chevy Camaro, his pride and joy.

He is survived by his wife: Mistie Flores of Brookshire; daughters: Breanna Campos of Katy and Eliza Pena of Brookshire; sons: Caleb Pena and Alex Pena both of Brookshire; grandson: Khari Abanathy of Katy; father: Ricardo Flores, Sr.; brother: Jaime Flores and wife, Crystal, of Katy; mother-in-law: Lillian Miles and husband, Mike; brothers-in-law: Kenneth Swartz and wife, Tiffany, Marshall Swartz and wife, Lanell, and Robert Alegria; sisters-in-law: Brandy Rodriguez and husband, Ronnie, and Carrie Hundl and husband, Brian; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his mother: Anita Flores; sister: Sulema Flores-Alegria; and father-in-law: Kenneth Swartz.
