Richard Ray Holdiman

Richard Ray Holdiman, 81, of Fulshear, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, in Katy, Texas.

Richard was born April 15, 1940, in New Hampton, Iowa, to Millard and Loretta (Schanfeld) Holdiman. He grew up in Cedar Falls, Iowa, before moving to Houston when he was 16 years old. Richard graduated from San Jacinto High School, class of 1959. From 1961 to 1965, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a radioman while playing baseball at the base where he was stationed in Arizona.  On April 8, 1967, Richard was united in marriage to Mary Ann Hermes in Shiner, Texas. He worked for National Supply and Cameron both, oil and gas companies for over 30 years. Richard was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports.  His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Mary Ann Holdiman of Fulshear; daughter: Pam Barnett and husband, Tony, of Katy; grandchildren: Andrew Barnett (Abbe Cross), of Waco, Aaron Barnett (Cheyenne), of Fulshear, Abby Barnett of Katy, and Alayna Barnett of Katy; great-grandchild: Harper Anne Barnett of Fulshear; sister: Patricia Hudson of Spring; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and amazing friends.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents: Millard and Loretta Holdiman; daughter: Julie Holdiman; and brother-in-law: Floyd Hudson.
