Richard "Rick" Louis Waldrop
December 1, 1957 — September 8, 2018
Rick was most happy when with his family as well as serving the Lord. He was an avid outdoorsman and duck hunter. He had a deep love for the Brazos River. A few of his hobbies were the love of music, especially the drums, bar b quing, dutch oven cooking, blacksmithing and knife making. Rick was a simple man but lived life to the fullest. A favorite past time of his was just sitting on the front porch visiting with friends.
Rick served as a Trustee of San Felipe United Methodist Church, was a lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club, and a past member of Ducks Unlimited and Stephen F Austin Radio Club.
He is survived by his wife Kim Waldrop of San Felipe. Son Jon Waldrop and his wife Erica of San Felipe. Two grandchildren; Harloe, and Slade. His mother Mary Waldrop, of Pattison; sister Karen Porter and her husband Rick of Fredericksburg. Brother in laws Todd Keaton and Ty Keaton and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his father Carter Waldrop.
Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 PM on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the San Felipe United Methodist Church. Friends may pay their respects on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the San Felipe United Methodist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the San Felipe United Methodist Church, 202 Vicente Guerrero, San Felipe, TX 77473, with Rev. Joel McMahon officiating.
Burial will follow in the San Felipe Cemetery. Pallbearers; Robert Braentner, Rolf Gullaksen, Alan Konieczny, David Melton, Don Pyle, John Stinger, Roy Taylor and Russel Voyles. Honorary Pallbearers; Jim Bundick, Mark Miranda, Chris Sodolak, Jack Miller, Tom Conlan, Jack Carr, Todd Keaton, Ty Keaton, Rick Porter, Steve Packard, Adrian Blakney, John Boggan, James Lezak, Charles Griffin and Chris Singer.
