Robert Albert Johnson, III

ROBERT “Bob” JOHNSON, 74, of New Ulm, Texas, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020.

He was born February 28, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Robert Albert Johnson, Jr. and Bess (Tennill) Johnson.  Bob graduated from John Tyler High School.  He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, serving during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged as rank of Corporal.  Later, Bob attended Tyler Junior College obtaining his associates degree.  He owned his own oil and gas engineering company until he retired in 2010.

Bob was united in marriage to Paula Davis in Tyler, Texas, on July 1, 1967.

Bob raised and showed cutting horses for years.

Bob is survived by his wife of over 53 years: Paula Johnson of New Ulm; sons: Ben Johnson and his wife, Tiffany, of Magnolia, and Jeff Johnson and his wife, Sabra, of New Ulm; grandchildren: Shelby JoDale Johnson, Cody James Johnson, Gracie Brook Johnson, Madyson Faith Johnson, Hayley Grayce Johnson, and Hunter Lane Johnson; sisters: Janice Johnson, Peggy Shockley and her husband, James, and Patti Reynaud and her husband, Paul, all of Tyler; brother: Randy Johnson and his wife, Karen, of Oak Ridge; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Johnson, Jr. and Bess Johnson.
