  Robert Linton Griffin, 59, of Brookshire, passed away Monday, December 18, 2017, in Brookshire. Robert was born September 19, 1958, in Houston, Texas, the son of James Hilton and Dorothy (Rapsilver) Griffin.  He grew up and attended school in Brookshire.  After graduating from Royal High School, he attended Texas A&M University.  Robert owned and operated Rapsilver Supply Company in Brookshire, a machine and welding company.  He refereed basketball for almost 35 years.  He was generous and giving, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need.  Robert loved people, reading, philosophy, and talking about the deeper things in life.  He enjoyed playing various sports, hunting and fishing, and loved going to the beach. Robert is survived by his son:  James Griffin; daughter:  Carrie Poffenberger and her husband, Marcus; all of Bellville; son:  Charles Griffin and his fiancé, Tiffany Brockett, of San Felipe; and his grandchildren:  Lanie Poffenberger, Elizabeth Griffin, Aiden Griffin, Cheyenne Brockett, Louis Stonewall Griffin and Samuel David Griffin.  He is also survived by his brothers:  Dan Griffin and his wife, Pat, of McKinney, Johnny Griffin and his wife, Joanie, of Sealy, and Roger Griffin and his wife, Rena, of League City; his sister:  Laurie Menchaca and her husband, Richard, of San Antonio; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Griffin, one brother, Jimmie Griffin, a sister, Kathy Wilson, and two grandchildren, Jeremiah and Lily Poffenberger.     Final arrangements are under the direction of the Schmidt Funeral Home, 819 Waller Ave., P.O.
