Robert Lee Cardiff

Robert Lee Cardiff went to join his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 1, 2018.  He was born on June 18, 1927, in Houston, Texas, the son of John Victor and Ruth Lemley Cardiff.  After graduating from high school, Robert attended the University of Houston where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. On February 24, 1951, Robert married Eleanor Sloat in Spring Branch. They lived in Edna before moving to Katy where Robert worked as a rice farmer. After living in Katy for 12 years, Robert and Ele made their home in Pattison where they were members of the Christ Lutheran Church.  Ele preceded Robert in death on September 6, 1996 after 45 years of marriage. Robert later married Doris Haak, then  Evelyn Kirk. Robert served on the Royal ISD Board of Trustees for many years.  He was also an Elder at Christ Lutheran Church in Pattison. Robert is survived by his children:  Elizabeth Beamon and her husband, Jamie, of Fort Worth, Lynn Cardiff and his wife, Sandy, of Katy, Chris Cardiff and his wife, Susan, of Pattison, Cathy Cornett and her husband, Cole, of Pattison, Glen Cardiff and his wife, Lisa, of Katy, Jeff Cardiff and his wife, Christine, of Katy. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his father, John Victor Cardiff, his mother, Ruth Lemley Cardiff, 5 brothers, and 3 wives, Ele, Doris and Evelyn.
