Roberta Faye Pope

Roberta Faye (Beason) Pope, 83, of Bellville, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, in Bellville, Texas.

Roberta was born January 3, 1940, in Powderly, Alabama, the daughter of Robert Victor Beason, Jr. and Agnes (Burgess) Beason. In 1948, Roberta and her family moved to Houston, growing up in the Heights area and graduating from Regan High School. Roberta furthered her education at the University of Houston, earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She made her home in Bellville in 2007. Roberta was active in her community, volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club and with the Bellville Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and gardening.

She is survived and loved by her daughter: Susan Selman and husband, Trey, of Austin; sons: Kevin Pope and wife, Lauralie, of La Porte and Scott Pope and wife, Kimberly, of Bellville; 4 grandchildren: Corbin, Megan, Lindsey, and Lauren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Diane Weathers of Giddings and Mary Kuehn and husband, Ed, of Houston.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents: Robert Victor, Jr. and Agnes Beason; brother: Robert Victor Beason, III; and sister: Gayle Maloney.
