Ruby Bell Waak

Ruby Bell Waak, 85, of Bellville, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019, in Bellville.

Ruby was born on October 23, 1933, in Bellville, to Walter and Henrietta (Able) Henrichsen. She grew up in the Piney Community and attended school in Bellville. Ruby married Calvin Waak on August 26, 1953 and lived in the same house in Bellville throughout their marriage. They had one son, C.W. Waak. Ruby blossomed her faith as a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She loved baking, flowers, caring for children, and animals. Ruby always had a desire to become a famous artist, and, after entering the nursing home, she took up art. She was a loving mother who always prepared supper for her husband and son after the long days of working the farm.

She is survived by her son: C. W. Waak and his wife, Gayle, of Bellville; brother: John Henrichsen and his wife, Carolyn, of Bellville; grandchildren: Jessica Simpson and her husband, Andy, of Hollister, MO, Benjamin Whitehead and his wife, Lauren, of Bellville, Samantha Soliz and her husband, Jimmy, of Chappell Hill; nephews: Carl Henrichsen of Bellville and John Kevin Henrichsen; great grandchildren: Aiden, Ryder, and Adam Soliz and Jacob and Lincoln Whitehead; sister-in-law: Erlene Meinhart of Bellville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Calvin.

Pallbearers were Benjamin Whitehead, Jimmy Soliz, Carl Henrichsen, Butch Henke, Monuelle Jennings and Britt Bumguardner.

Honorary Pallbearers were: John Kevin Henrichsen, Preston Smith, Jim Voelkle and Randy Voelkle.
