SOGHME HOVAS SIMMONS, 72, of Katy, Texas, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020, in Katy, Texas, after a long journey with multiple sclerosis.
Soghme was born on March 27, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Edward and Jean (Cleveland) Hovas. She was a long time Houstonian, graduating from Lamar High School. She was baptized as a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church. Soghme enjoyed painting, reading the newspaper, and crossword puzzles. She was an avid animal lover and loved watching her soap operas.
She is survived by her husband: Charles Douglas Simmons of Katy; daughter: Devin Hovas and fiance, Sean McDowell, of Katy; grandchild: Aubrey Lehmann of Katy; twin sister: Pamela Hovas; brother: John Hovas and wife, Diane; half-sister: Patricia Russ; and step-daughters: Kristen Sowers and husband, Jason, of Cypress and Kimberley Harrell and husband, Avery, of Rockport.
Soghme was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Jean Hovas, and brother, Thomas Hovas.
