Stanley Charles Coker

STANLEY CHARLES COKER, 82, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022, in Bellville. He was born March 7, 1940, in Bay City, Texas, the son of Stanley George and Lela Beatrice (Altenburg) Coker. Stanley grew up in Bay City before his family moved to Freeport, Texas, where he graduated from Freeport High School in 1958. Stanley enlisted in the United States Army in 1963 and was Honorably Discharged in 1968. He enrolled at Sam Houston State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business. Stanley was employed as a Financial Manager for Brown and Root for many years. He was united in marriage to Sharon Blow, on January 25, 1975, in Houston, Texas. They made their home in Houston, before moving to Bellville. Stanley was a member of 2nd Baptist Church West Katy, Methodist men, Council at the Lutheran Church, and Bellville Masonic Lodge #223. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Stanley is survived by his wife: Sharon Coker of Bellville; Shari Zetka of Houston, Sara Michelle Benitez of Bellville, and Casey Chateauvert of Galveston; son: Charles Wayne Coker and his wife, Pearl, of Castroville; grandchildren: Kodi Dingle, Tyler Dingle, Tristan Coker, Adam Benitez, and Preston Johnson; and numerous cousins, other family, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers are Kodi Dingle, Tyler Dingle, Tristan Coker, Elery Kimes, Rev. James Orange, and Leland Ranson.
