With bereaved hearts, we announce the passing of Sylvia Moya Juarez, of Pattison, TX on November 4, 2024; she was 70. Sylvia was born in Kingsville, TX to the late Jose G. Jr. and Glafira (Arguijo) Moya of Riviera, TX. She attended the public school system in Riviera, and was a graduate of Kaufer High School, Class of 1972. Following graduation, Sylvia began a life-long career journey in Austin with a wide-range of employment success, including Dental Assistant, Loan Bank Officer, Escrow Officer, and was retired from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. In her spare time, Sylvia enjoyed reading and creating beautiful arts and crafts, and bingo. Her hot cocoa on cold winter mornings was not to be beat, and her ducle de leche was some of the best! She is predeceased by her son, Geraldo, her parents Jose and Glafira Moya, her brother Samuel Moya, and her sister Maria G. (Lupita) Moya Bueno, and a host of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be cherished in memory by her daughter Laura Gudelman of Pattison, TX and her husband Erik, her grandchildren Elyssa Pruner of Pattison, TX, Josue and Giuiliana Juarez of West University Seattle, WA, and her step-grandsons Tony Flores and Haden Gudelman. In addition, her sisters Yolanda Crutcher and her husband Bill of Pasadena, TX, Grace Garcia and her husband Eduardo “Jr.” of Ricardo, TX, Virginia Rowley and her husband Victor of Corpus Christi, TX, Anna Flores and her husband Jorge of Riviera, TX, Mary A. Caballero of Riviera, TX, and Leticia Clark and her husband Jeff of Huntsville, TX. Also, her brothers Joseph Moya of Foxborough, MA, Albert Moya of Kingsville, TX, Carlos Moya and his fiance Mary Garcia of Kingsville, TX, and “Bo” Moya and his wife Margie of Ricardo, TX. She is also survived by 2 generations of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, and cousins of the Arguijo, Coy, and Cadwell families. She will be fondly remembered by a number of childhood friends whose friendship continued her entire lifetime. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Mission in Riviera, TX at a later date, followed by inurnment at Riviera, TX Cemetery.
