THOMAS "Mr.B" BENNETT, 72, of Bellville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016, in Brenham, Texas. He was born November 28, 1943, in Monterrey Park, California, to John W. and Edwina (Menkee) Bennett. Thomas grew up and attended Riverside Poly Technical High school in Southern California. Thomas also attended Riverside Cal-Poly and Stanford University. Thomas was united in marriage to Janie Cardenas on June 28, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He and Janie made their home in Bellville. Thomas was the founder and CEO of Prime Equipment in Houston, before retiring to cattle ranching. He was a founder of the Bellville Heritage Gathering, a past director of the Bellville Chamber of Commerce, director of the American Equipment Distributors and American Rental Association. Thomas also enjoyed collecting cars. Thomas is survived by his wife Janie of Bellville, daughters: Robin Burns and her husband, Pat, of Bellville and Christine Turk and her husband, Bill, of Houston; son: Tommy Bennett of Portland, Oregon; step-son: Jimmy W. Salat of Brighton, Colorado and grandchildren: Abigail Burns of Bellville and Lauren Turk of San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edwina Bennett. Pallbearers are Jimmy Salat, Doug Bass, Judd Bass, Wylie Bass, Robert Soto and Heath Wiktorik.
