Vivian "Viv" Marie Witte passed from this life to the next on July 22, 2022.  She was born to Dennis and Viola Stalbaum Witte on January 2, 1947.  She was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church on December 11, 1947, by Rev. A. J. Mohr and was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church by Rev. Mohr on March 26, 1961.

Viv attended Bellville Public Schools and graduated from Bellville High School in 1965.  She attended Blinn College in Brenham and then transferred to Southwest Texas State University, which is now Texas State University and later earned her Master’s degree in Business Education from West Texas State University.

While attending school at Southwest Texas State University, Viv met the love of her life when Mike Witte called because he was curious about a girl with the same last name as his.

In 1969, after graduating from Southwest Texas State University, she took a job in Palacios teaching shorthand and typing.

On July 31, 1971, Vivian came back to St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville to be married to Mike Witte.

After 43 years of marriage, Mike passed away on October 7, 2014.  Shortly after his passing, Viv moved to Brenham where she enjoyed decorating her home and tending her plants on her deck.  She also enjoyed doing various kinds of handiwork.

For the past 12 months, she was a resident of Kruse Village in Brenham.

Viv is survived by her sister, Susan Young of College Station, Texas, her brother, Charles and wife, Betty, of Cross Plains, brothers-in-law Chris Witte and wife Mary of Waco, Steve Witte and wife Karen of Ennis and sister Lynn Bauman and husband, Charles of Charleston, South Carolina, 11 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in Death by her husband Mike, parents, Dennis and Viola Witte, her parents-in-law Dennis and Jo Witte, and brother-in-law Melvin D. Young.

Viv will be buried beside Mike in McGregor, Texas at a later date.
