William "Bill" George Vasicek

WILLIAM GEORGE VASICEK, 74, of Industry, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2018, in Bellville, Texas.He was born September 6, 1944, in Industry, Texas to George and Cecelia 'Lilly' (Malek) Vasicek, where he grew up farming on the homeplace. He attended West End School and graduated from Bellville High School in 1962.Bill proudly joined the US Marines in 1964 and served 3 years, including one year in Vietnam. Once he started working, he never stopped until he ultimately retired from Blue Bell Creameries in Brenham, Texas. During his working career, he also managed Texas BBQ House in Houston and worked at Kenjura Tile in Brenham.After a blind date introduction, he married Neely Brast on October 9, 1971. They initially settled in Houston had two children, Stanley Vasicek and Stacey Vasicek Bendele and moved back to Industry in 1984.Bill enjoyed spending time sharing faith, family and fellowship. He never missed an opportunity to include his wit and humor in any conversation. Bill instilled pride and strong work ethic in all his activities. Many family and friends have enjoyed his prized BBQ, specifically brisket. He was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church in Industry, Texas where he was also baptized, confirmed, married and actively involved in the Knights of Columbus. Bill also enjoyed football and was a loyal Houston Texans fan and former season ticket holder. He was a member of Woodmen Life, American Legion, and enjoyed volunteering for Helping One Another (HOA) by delivering Meals on Wheels.
