WILLIE D. “Billie” SCHOVAJSA, JR., 78, of Bleiblerville, Texas, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at his home.
He was born January 14, 1945, in Bellville, Texas, the son of Willie D., Sr. and Annie (Surovik) Schovajsa. Billie grew up and attended schools in the Bleiblerville area. He was united in marriage to Danita Stark, on March 20, 1971, at the Nelsonville Brethren Church. Billie owned and operated a construction business. He built many homes in Austin and surrounding counties. He was responsible for building his family’s home many years ago, where all the memories were made. Billie did the entire construction on the inside of “Must Be Heaven” located in historical downtown Brenham, including the register counters, and cabinetry. After years of hard work and dedication, too many, he retired due to numerous back and knee surgeries. Billie continued to build furniture in his shop for his local customers if his health would allow it. In his spare time, you could find him around a table playing dominoes, watching the Astros, listening to Polka music, tending to his cattle, or catching a fish or two, but his heart was with his grandchildren.
Billie was a member of the Nelsonville Brethren Church, the Bleiblerville Volunteer Fire Department, and SPJST.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years: Danita Schovajsa; daughters: Candy Janish and her husband, Tim, Tara Wise and her husband, Tommy, and Ginny Ward and her significant other, Walker Leopold; precious grandchildren: Ross Janish and his wife, Kelsye, Piper Leopold, Hudson Leopold, Dustin Janish and his wife, Karina, Brandon Janish and his wife, Laura, Jacob Janish, Jack Wise, and Jake Wise; great grandchildren: Urijah Janish, and soon to be: Kyler “Ky” Janish; sister-in-law: Serena Krueger and her husband, Fuzzy; nephews: Chase Krueger and his significate other, Madison, and Colby Krueger and his wife, Carlye; caregiver: Diana Zapata; and numerous other family, and dear friends.
