Wiltrud Clara "Trudy" Asaf was born May 23, 1926, in Giessen, Germany, the daughter of Eugene and Klara Wolff Kruger. Trudy was born and raised in Germany, she also attended schools in that country before moving to the United States in 1947. Trudy lived in New Jersey and then moved to Houston, Texas in 1948, later making her home in Bellville. Trudy worked as a retail clerk for a clothing company. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, gardening, reading, bird watching and children. Trudy also loved her Sunday drives out on the country roads. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville. Trudy was dedicated to her church, where she translated old German transcripts to English, as she did for other churches as well. She was also a member of the Ladies Circle at St. John Lutheran Church. Trudy passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at the age of 86. She is survived by her CHILDREN: Mark Asaf of Bellville, Michael Frank Asaf of Houston and Janet Asaf; and GRANDCHILDREN: Michael Thomas Asaf, Eric Asaf and Andrea Tokar and her husband, David. Trudy is also survived by her GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Justin and Jacob Asaf. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Klara Asaf, and sisters, Lutgard, Ingrid and Helga.
