Zelner (Stoney) Stone, Jr., 85, of Brookshire, Texas passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 in Brookshire. He was born on January 18, 1932 the son of Zelner and Ethel (Hursh) Stone in Monette, Arkansas. Zelner attended Monette High School where he graduated. In 1952, Zelner joined the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War as a Military Police Officer . After his service, he moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. Zelner worker as a Dispatcher in the Trucking Industry for most of his life. On January 21, 1994 he married Evelyn German in Houston, Texas. They moved to Brookshire in 2003. Zelner was a member of the Texas Lone Star Chapter of Korean War Veterans. He also served as a President and Vice President of the National Cemetery Council. Zelner was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling and volunteering at his church. He was a member of the Living Word Church of the Nazarene..He is survived by his wife: Evelyn Stone of Brookshire, Texas; brother-in-law: Lloyd German and wife Linda of Waller, Texas, Charles German and wife Margaret of Spring, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his parents and in-laws.Friends who wish to make memorial gifts may do so to: Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
